This is interesting data from Comscore “a leader in measuring the digital world, they released a June 2009 overview of the career services & development category based on data from comScore Media Metrix and comScore Marketer. The study revealed that more than 65 million Americans visited the category in June, representing a 10-percent increase versus year ago, ranking it as one of the top-growing site categories. Yahoo and Bing announced today they will be merging their search engines. According to the San Jose Mercury News, “The long-anticipated search and advertising partnership between Yahoo and Microsoft could be announced as early as today, according to reports in the trade and financial press — giving the companies a stronger presence in one of the Web’s most lucrative segments.” Click here to read the rest of this article.

With Bing’s huge advertising campaign there has been a lot of buzz about their new search engine. Which of the three search engines truly delivers more relevant results? If you want to try an objective test vs. using your subject opinion then click here and conduct your own blind test. I recommend writing down a list of ten phrases you would search for but aren’t familar with the results. Track which search engine you liked best and come back here and share your results. In my case I picked Google 80% of the time and 20% of the time I picked Bing.com and not once did I pick Yahoo.

Comscore.com released their latest update on the market share of the major search engines. Despite all of the hoopla Bing has created with their advertisement, their share of the search market has barely increased. This does not surprise me.
