With very little fanfare Google has finally made average monthly keyword search volume data available to the public for the first time! Previously the only way to get the average monthly searches for a keyword phrase from Google was to use automated software. Now businesses of all sizes can view the most popular keywords related to their business via Google’s revised Keyword Suggestion tool.
Having access to this information will be great for businesses and search engine optimization firms. It can also be a little dangerous in the hands of the uneducated. It is important to note that ranking high for a two word phrase might be a lofty goal but focusing on three or four word phrases that are more specific will bring you more qualified customers.
