It’s the weekend and I’m just having some fun surfing the web. I don’t know about you but I’m an old Monty Python fan from way back. They have so many great skits. Today I found one of my favorites on the web. The Funniest Joke in the World is great British comedy.I’ll get back to posting on search and Internet marketing topics on Monday.Enjoy your weekend!Best…DaryP.S. Happy St. Pattys too!

I’m back on my high horse again today. I want to talk about what the realistic chances for a website to appear in the top rankings at Google. This is a very complicated subject, so I won’t go into all aspects of it. My goal here is to make sure people don’t get ripped off by so called “SEO Specialists.”1. You need a professional to give you a free evaluation of your organic search potential. We actually do that at www.internet-search-marketing.com.2. Make sure you don’t fall for a promise like this one; “we guarantee top placement at Google in 30 days or...

Everyday I receive emails and/or calls from people looking for information they can trust and use about search engine optimization. Although their web site is really cluttered, I think Search Engine Watch is truly the industry leader in unbiased information on this subject.
Sorry for my late post today, it has been a really busy day!
Cheers!

One of my clients called me and told me he was approached by a company claiming to offer SEO consulting services. This company claimed they could do a better job than I was doing. Apparently the owner of this company recently completed the Search engine college’s course on SEM and was now ready to get into the business of finding new customers. Don’t get me wrong, the search engine college has an excellent product but maybe they need to add a segment on ethics.
Needless to say, I explained to my client that the proof is in the pudding. What is this person’s rankings for their...

One of the more common posts around various search engine forums is, “my rankings at Google have gone down, can someone please explain why?” People who watch their search engine rankings on a hourly or daily basis should spend more time on building backlinks and providing linkable content (my opinion). I posted this comment which includes a quote from a Google public relations person recently at SEOChat last week and again today.
I’ve been reading the book, “Winning Results with Google Adwords”. This book was published sometime in what appears to be late in 2005....

Most people outside of the search engine industry are probably not aware that Google has been moving towards providing “personalized search”. Danny Sullivan formerly of Search Engine Watch has posted this very interesting article on the subject. Click here to read about it.

This article by PC World is a perfect tie in to my recent posts about Google Adwords. Online ad spending in the U.S. grew 34 percent in 2006, compared with 2005, as marketers continued expanding their use of the Internet to promote their products and services, according to a new study. With an estimated US$16.8 billion spent, the U.S. is a “healthy environment” for online advertising, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) said Wednesday. Here is another highly recommended book about how to get the most out of Google Adwords. The book is called, “The Ulitimate Guide To Google Adwords,” by Perry Marshall and Bryan Todd.

In my post two days ago I mentioned using longtail words at Google AdWords as a great strategy! Someone contacted me and asked; what if I don’t know how to use Google Adwords? That is a great question and here is my first answer! One of the most popular books on the subject is Andrew Goodman’s, “Winning Results with Google Adwords.” This book provides great information about managing your own Adwords campaigns. It also gives you a historical perspective of how the search engine industry has changed in the past ten years. I knew most of this historical information because...
