“It is the privilege — or possibly the curse — of each new generation to be different from the last. But rarely has a generational divide been as noticeable as that between those in their early 20s and the baby boomers.
This, at any rate, is the proposition put forward by Don Tapscott, a management professor at the University of Toronto and author a decade ago of “Growing Up Digital: The Rise of the Net Generation.” In his latest book, “Grown Up Digital: How the Net Generation Is Changing Your World,” he argues that...

Results from the most extensive U.S. study on teens and their use of digital media show that America’s youth are developing important social and technical skills online – often in ways adults do not understand or value.“It might surprise parents to learn that it is not a waste of time for their teens to hang out online,” said Mizuko Ito, University of California, Irvine researcher and the report’s lead author. “There are myths about kids spending time online – that it is dangerous or making them lazy. Accordingly, it’s an auction marketplace but somewhat simplified vs. AdWords. The keynote speakers at that conference were Cory Rudl (who has since passed away) and Marlon Sanders. These guys were and are the kings of marketing automation and direct marketing via online sales letters. It was a very interesting conference and I learned a lot. Since then I’ve been to a number of conferences and many of them I felt I knew as much or more information than the so called expert presenters.
Recently I attended the Online Marketing Summit...

WOW….how times have changed! Today is the 25th anniversary of the cell phone. It has gone from a device that cost almost $4,000 to a one that is virtually free. Twenty five years ago I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines. At that time it took four days to get a telegram to my local site from St. Louis where I grew up. Today you can text message real time from virtually anywhere in the world to the small town I lived in back in those days. In fact, the Philippines has become the largest text messaging nation in the world. You can’t conduct business in the Philippines without...
