Anyone who is SEO savy knows links from related and authoritative websites help improve your search engine rankings over time. In particular MSN and Google both give you higher rankings if you have in-bound links (this is stated in it’s simplest form).
MSN shut down their link check function at the end of March and it has created some frustration among SEO professionals and SEO savy website owners. Click here to read MSN’s comments on why they shut down this function. Perhaps you will enjoy some off the comments their blog visitors have provided too.
Side note: Wondering how to check some of your links that Google is seeing?Enter: link:www.yoururl.com (your real URL) into Google’s search box and they will give you a sampling of the websites linking to you. To receive a larger more accurate list, you need to register your website at Google’s Webmaster Tools and add their tracking code to your website.
