Yahoo and Bing announced today they will be merging their search engines. According to the San Jose Mercury News, “The long-anticipated search and advertising partnership between Yahoo and Microsoft could be announced as early as today, according to reports in the trade and financial press — giving the companies a stronger presence in one of the Web’s most lucrative segments.” Click here to read the rest of this article.
I also called a friend of mine at Yahoo and he confirmed a more detailed announcement is pending. He stated if approved by the Justice Department, Yahoo will handle the Pay Per Click side of things and Bing (Microsoft) will be the search backbone.
